Water Heater Repair & Replacement in Wichita, KS
No hot water, water that never gets warm enough, rusty-looking water, or a puddle around the base of the tank: all of these mean your water heater needs attention. At Up to Code Plumbing, we repair and replace both tank and tankless water heaters for homes and businesses in Wichita and nearby towns.
Repair or Replace? We'll Give You a Straight Answer
Many water heater problems can be repaired. Common ones include a bad thermostat or heating element, a pilot or burner problem on a gas unit, or a relief valve that needs replacing. Other times, especially with an older tank that's leaking, replacement makes more sense. We'll look at your unit, explain what we find, and help you decide. We won't pressure you either way.
Traditional Tank Water Heaters
Tank water heaters are still the most common type in homes. When we replace one, we size the new unit to fit your household and install it to current code. That includes the venting, gas or electrical connections, and safety components.
Tankless Water Heaters
Tankless units heat water as you use it instead of keeping a full tank hot. If you're thinking about switching, we can talk through whether tankless fits your home, your hot water use, and your existing gas and venting setup. If you already have a tankless unit that's acting up, we can service and repair it too.

Water Heater FAQ
How do I know if my water heater should be repaired or replaced?
It depends on the age of the unit, what's wrong, and whether the tank itself is leaking. A leaking tank usually means it's time to replace it. Many other issues can be repaired. We'll look at it and give you an honest recommendation.
Do you work on both gas and electric water heaters?
Yes. We work on gas and electric tank water heaters as well as tankless units.
Is a tankless water heater right for my home?
It can be a great fit, but it depends on your hot water use and your current gas line and venting. We'll go over the pros and cons for your specific home before you decide.
